POSITIVE THINKING

Tend To Your Vibes To-Do List

If you have read my book, Tend To Your Vibration, then you will have learned that setting time aside to tend to yourself regularly can give you a level of freedom that you have never felt before.

With my kids back in school, I have been playing around with a semi-daily to-do list that I made for myself and I thought you might enjoy using it too.

I say “semi-daily” because each personality is different. You might like this daily, weekly, monthly, or randomly. Whichever one suits you, I hope you enjoy this list and guide below!

How to Use Your To-Do List:

  • Date: Add the date here (this takes the pressure off of having to do this every day if that is not your jam)
  • Moon Phases: Check in on what phase the moon is and write it in this space. Bonus: Check the Living by the Light of the Moon Lesson in my Tend To Your Vibration to help you create rituals or actions to do during each phase) or use this blog post as a guide: How To Connect to the Moon Phases.
  • Check Boxes: Breathing, Exercise, Meditation, and Vision Board are 4 things I recommend doing as much as possible.
    • Breathing: You can find breathing exercises in Tend To Your Vibration and also on my blog here: https://www.kerryburki.com/category/breathing-techniques/
    • Exercise: Any type of movement that makes you feel good like dancing, yoga, or a walk can count as exercise.
    • Meditation: You can practice your fave form of meditation, or sit for a few minutes after breathing as your meditation, or listen to the ones I have added to the bonus section online of my book, listen to these on my blog: https://www.kerryburki.com/category/meditation/
    • Vision Board: Spend a few moments in front of your vision board on a regular basis feeling like all of it has come true. Use the lessons in the Working with Your Thoughts section of my book, Tend To Your Vibration to help you manifest it into life. Don’t have a vision board? Here are some tips: https://www.kerryburki.com/?s=vision+board
  • Water: Did you know that you are supposed to drink half your body weight in ounces of water each day? I added the average of 8 glasses here even though I personally have to drink more. (Let me know if you want a version of this with more glasses). You can cross the glasses off or color them in with a blue colored pencil. Such a fun way to keep track of water consumption. Drinking water will help you in every area of your life. I promise!
  • Crystal: Pick a crystal to work with either daily or for a bit of time. You can write down the crystal in this space. I like to either pick one I am drawn to or pick one based on the energy associated with it. You can find out more in my book and also in this post: Pick and Crystal – Mini Reading.
  • Intuitive Hints and Synchronicities: If you start doing this work on a regular basis, then you will start to see evidence of your dreams coming true and receiving guidance in your daily life. It is so important to record these moments as proof that your efforts are working and to keep your vibration at a level that keeps manifesting more of what you want. I also carry a little notebook around to write these down on the fly. This is inspired by most of my book but especially the Have Fun & Draw In lesson.
  • Card Pull: I love pulling a card a day after asking “What do I need to know right now?” You can do this at the beginning of the day and reflect back later or do it at the end of the day and notice what comes up. You can also use the printable oracle cards from the online bonus section of my book. They will give you guidance on which lessons might have to most impact on your life right now.
  • I am grateful for: Lastly, it feels so good to express what you are grateful for on a regular basis. Bonus: What to really feel good? After you write what you are grateful for add “because” and then finish the sentence. This amps up the feeling of gratitude which makes your life that much more enjoyable.

Whew! I promise it won’t take you as long to fill this out as it did to read all of this. Lol! I hope you enjoy bringing this activity into your life.

Enjoy!

Christmas Visualization for Struggling Family Members or Loved Ones

Today I’m sharing a Christmas visualization for a struggling family member or loved one that has brought me deep comfort and peace over the years.

This gentle practice came into my life during a season when I was feeling emotionally overwhelmed by a family situation. If you’re carrying worry, fear, or heaviness for someone you love — or even for yourself — this visualization can help you release what you’re holding and allow support to come in.

While this visualization is rooted in a Christian tradition, I also share alternative versions using angels, Mother Earth, or universal loving energy, so you can adapt it in a way that feels aligned and soothing for you.

A few days before Christmas, I took my older son, Simon, to confession at a local church. At the time, I was deeply affected by a situation involving a family member who was struggling, and I found myself feeling emotionally drained and overwhelmed.

During confession, I shared what I was carrying with the priest. As I spoke, the weight of it all caught up to me, and I became emotional. He gently offered a Christmas visualization that I had never heard before — and it stayed with me long after that moment.

The Christmas Visualization

A Christmas Visualization for a Struggling Loved One

He invited me to imagine the first Christmas — the manger scene — and to picture baby Jesus already born, safe, loved, and cared for.

Then he asked me to imagine walking into that space with my struggling family member.

In this visualization:

  • Mary knows the baby is safe.
  • She turns her full attention to your loved one.
  • She sits with them, wraps her arms around them, and fills them with love, light, comfort, and guidance.

As Mary holds them, you are invited to relax — to release responsibility, fear, and control — knowing your loved one is being held with deep care.

This practice reminded me that I didn’t need to carry everything alone.

How I Continue This Practice

Over the years, I’ve continued this visualization in a way that feels natural and grounding.

Now, before bed, I often imagine my loved one in their own home. I picture Mary arriving gently, wrapping them in her arms, filling them with light, love, and a reminder of their own inner strength.

This practice has become a quiet, supportive ritual — one that gives both comfort and emotional space.

Alternative Visualizations

Other Gentle Visualization Options

If a Christian framework doesn’t resonate with you, here are a few alternative ways to practice this visualization:

  • Angels: Imagine one or more angels surrounding your loved one, holding them in loving, supportive energy.
  • Mother Earth: Picture your loved one in a peaceful natural setting — a meadow, ocean, forest, or snowy landscape — with nurturing energy rising from the earth and wrapping them in calm and care.
  • Universal Light: Visualize a warm, bright, supportive light surrounding them, offering peace, clarity, and emotional support.

You can also place yourself into any of these visualizations if you are the one who needs comfort.

If you are carrying worry for a family member — or quietly struggling yourself — I want you to know there is so much support available to you.

This Christmas visualization is an invitation to soften, to release what isn’t yours to hold, and to allow love to meet you where you are.

No matter how or what you are celebrating this season, I am holding you in light and love.

I will be taking the rest of the year off to spend time with family. Wishing you a peaceful end to 2020 and a hopeful start to 2021!

4 Tips to Gift Yourself Grace & Guidance

Gift yourself grace and guidance this holiday season! All of these tips are inspired by or based on lessons from my book, Tend To Your Vibration.

Tip 1:

FEELING ALL WORKED UP AND OVERWHELMED?

  • Take a moment and breathe.
  • Inhale through your nose and exhale out of your mouth.
  • Even add a sighing sound on the exhale if it feels good.
  • Do this at the very least 3 times.
  • This type of breath lowers your heart rate.
  • Every time you relax, your life will flow with more ease.

Add in some shoulder tools and neck massage more a whole self-care moment to yourself.

Gift yourself grace and guidance this holiday season! Remind yourself of this anytime you are taking things personally.

Tip 2:

FINDING THAT THE BEHAVIOR OF OTHERS IS PUTTING YOU IN A BAD MOOD?

* Remember that everyone is doing the best they can with the knowledge they have. That doesn’t mean their behavior is not annoying or possibly hurtful but try to remember that it is a reflection of them and their life experience and has nothing to do with you. (This might take time but can certainly help during this time of year!!!)

This change in thinking I learned from Don Miguel Ruiz and Louise Hay. It is not always easy but it can help you experience a bit more grace.

Gift yourself grace and guidance this holiday season! Here is the video version of Tip 3. You don’t have to figure everything out on your own. Ask for guidance!

Tip 3:

LOOKING FOR A PARKING SPOT OR THE PERFECT GIFT?

  • Ask your “runners” to go find it for you and then trust that they will. (Runners are guides that love to help you find things. You can view them as people, angels, guides or simply energy.)

You are supported by the energy of the universe!

Gift yourself grace and guidance this holiday season! Do what you need to do to be open to guidance. This might include gentle things like going for a walk, breathing or yoga. You might first need to get some pent up energy out through a loud scream, punching some pillows or dancing.

Tip 4:

WORRYING ABOUT THINGS GOING WRONG OR NOT BEING PERFECT?

  • Ask God/Spirit/Universe to take your worries away. Literally, ask that in your head or out loud. Then ask what you should do next. You might hear the words “relax” or you might get an actual sign about the right next step to take.

Remind yourself that you don’t have to figure out everything on your own. Stay open to creative possibilities!

Affirmation For The Waning Moon

Perfect affirmation for the waning moon! 🌘

Did you know that your thoughts create feelings that are felt as emotions in your heart? And those emotions create a vibrational frequency that the universe matches?

Yep!

So when you catch yourself saying negative things about yourself like:

  • “I’m so flakey.”
  • “I’ll never be organized enough to ___________.”
  • “If I could just be more like __________.”
  • “I always make bad decisions.”
  • “I have no idea what I’m doing and feel so lost.”

Catch yourself and say this affirmation.

“I release thoughts that no longer serve me.”

Bonus tip: Try to turn that negative thought into a positive one or at least a positive-ish one.

  • “I get so excited about all of the possibilities around me.”
  • “Small steps every day help me reach my goals.”
  • “I’m a unique individual and my energy draws in the perfect people and situations.”
  • “I used to make bad decisions all of the time but not anymore.”
  • “Something wonderful is going to happen and I’ll be on the right path.”

Enjoy this new energy and all of the wonderful, magical things that will follow!

4 Tips to Make Your Mornings Magical

Mornings can be magical!

It is so easy to have your alarm go off, grab your phone, roll out of bed, get coffee, get cranky, and then wonder why your day went the way it did.
Especially after during this wacky pandemic!

If you are looking to put some magic into your mornings or your kids are going back to school like mine are and you need a magical morning routine then this post is for you!

I used to hate mornings.

That means I know things have to be quick, easy, and fun in the morning in order for me to do them.

These tips will help you feel guided, sparkly, intuitive, and free-spirited!

If you have more to add, please share in the comments and spread the magical morning love!

4 Tips to Make Your Mornings Magical

  1. Ask for Guidance
    • Before you get out of bed, even before you open your eyes, you can ask for guidance from the divine. You can connect with God, Universe, Spirit, Mother Earth, or any other way you address a higher power or force. Then simply ask: “Can you please guide me, help me, lead me, move me, show me?” Any variation or all of those. Then stay open to receiving guidance during the day.
  2. Sun Breath or Solar Breath
    • Also called the Pingala Nadi Breath. Your right nostril is connected to the solar nadi (or channel) in your subtle energy body which is associated with vitality plus masculine and warming energy. Use the first two fingers on your left hand to close your left nostril. Begin breathing deeply through your right nostril. Practice for 3 rounds or 1 or 3 minutes. Then release the left nostril and breathe deeply through both nostrils. Pause and notice how you feel. This breath is featured in my Free Spirit Guidebook.
  3. Pick an animal guide for the day.
    • You can use the printable animal guide oracle cards that come as a bonus with my Free Spirit Guidebook to shuffle and pick a card as shown in the video. You can also ask for an animal to show up during your day or for the name or vision of one to pop into your mind. Once you see or think of one, then look up the meaning and energy associated with that animal and figure out how that energy can help you in your life right now.
  4. Sun Salutations.
    • Face east and greet the sun! Moving your body is a great way to start your day. It helps you get out of your head and release stress. If you are not familiar with Sun Salutations then simply watch this video I made a while back sharing different variations to get your morning started right. ***For a simple pick me up you can stand with your palms touching in front of your heart, inhale and lift your arms overhead, exhale and fold forward and touch or reach for your toes (bend your knees slightly), then inhale and roll all the way up, and finish with your palms back at your heart. Do this 3 times and start your day!

Just picking one of these things to do each morning will help make your morning magical!
