Take time to strengthen your intuition by focusing on your third eye during meditation and pulling tarot or oracle cards, Call on Owl for wisdom and guidance to help you see what is hidden to most others.

Fox – There is a lot of trickster energy around this year and even more so in this upcoming fall season. In order to not get overwhelmed or bamboozled, be prepared to use quick thinking. Any time you need to see through the cultural illusion, ask the Fox for guidance and then see what clues show up to guide you in the right direction.

Crow – Change is the only constant in life. Take time this season to learn how to emerge from change true to yourself. Crow might lead you to some magical practices that will help you feel more confident and also guide you through the trickster energy that is around this fall season. Imagine the Crow on your shoulder or nearby as your companion on your journey.

4 Tips to Make Your Mornings Magical

Mornings can be magical!

It is so easy to have your alarm go off, grab your phone, roll out of bed, get coffee, get cranky, and then wonder why your day went the way it did.
Especially after during this wacky pandemic!

If you are looking to put some magic into your mornings or your kids are going back to school like mine are and you need a magical morning routine then this post is for you!

I used to hate mornings.

That means I know things have to be quick, easy, and fun in the morning in order for me to do them.

These tips will help you feel guided, sparkly, intuitive, and free-spirited!

If you have more to add, please share in the comments and spread the magical morning love!

4 Tips to Make Your Mornings Magical

  1. Ask for Guidance
    • Before you get out of bed, even before you open your eyes, you can ask for guidance from the divine. You can connect with God, Universe, Spirit, Mother Earth, or any other way you address a higher power or force. Then simply ask: “Can you please guide me, help me, lead me, move me, show me?” Any variation or all of those. Then stay open to receiving guidance during the day.
  2. Sun Breath or Solar Breath
    • Also called the Pingala Nadi Breath. Your right nostril is connected to the solar nadi (or channel) in your subtle energy body which is associated with vitality plus masculine and warming energy. Use the first two fingers on your left hand to close your left nostril. Begin breathing deeply through your right nostril. Practice for 3 rounds or 1 or 3 minutes. Then release the left nostril and breathe deeply through both nostrils. Pause and notice how you feel. This breath is featured in my Free Spirit Guidebook.
  3. Pick an animal guide for the day.
    • You can use the printable animal guide oracle cards that come as a bonus with my Free Spirit Guidebook to shuffle and pick a card as shown in the video. You can also ask for an animal to show up during your day or for the name or vision of one to pop into your mind. Once you see or think of one, then look up the meaning and energy associated with that animal and figure out how that energy can help you in your life right now.
  4. Sun Salutations.
    • Face east and greet the sun! Moving your body is a great way to start your day. It helps you get out of your head and release stress. If you are not familiar with Sun Salutations then simply watch this video I made a while back sharing different variations to get your morning started right. ***For a simple pick me up you can stand with your palms touching in front of your heart, inhale and lift your arms overhead, exhale and fold forward and touch or reach for your toes (bend your knees slightly), then inhale and roll all the way up, and finish with your palms back at your heart. Do this 3 times and start your day!

Just picking one of these things to do each morning will help make your morning magical!

Sun Breath, Sun Signs & Sun Salutations

Sun Salutations

Sun Salutations are the perfect simple yoga routine to help you move your body and feel energized.

The full set is not for everyone so I created a video to show the variations you can use to add this to your routine.

You can do this when you wake up in the morning, mid-morning, or help beat an afternoon slump.

You technically don’t even need a yoga mat and I just love that.

If you are new to Sun Salutations, then you will probably follow the video for a while and then you will be able to start doing them on your own.

Solar Breath

You can start or finish Sun Salutations with Solar Breath. You can also do this as a stand-alone morning practice.

  • Sit tall
  • Close your left nostril with the first two fingers of your left hand
  • Inhale slowly and deeply through the right nostril
  • Exhale slowly through your right nostril
  • This is one cycle.
  • Repeat 8 to 10 times or for 1 to 3 minutes.
  • Allow your eyes to close.
  • Pause after and take some deep breaths through both nostrils.
  • Notice how you feel.

The right nostril is connected to the Sun and your Pingala Nadi. Your solar (pingala) nadi (channel) is in your subtle energy body.

This breath is warming and energizing. This is also a breath featured in my Free Spirit Guidebook.

Sun Signs

You might like to dedicate your practice and/or your breath to embody the energy of the current Sun Sign.

Simply figure out which sun sign we are in at the moment by the dates listed below. Then read the description and see where you can benefit from that energy in your life.

Set your intention to embody that energy at the beginning of your Sun Salutation practice and bring your mind back to it at the end.

Then find ways to infuse that energy into your day during this cycle.

Lunar New Year & the Year of the Rat

This Saturday, January 24th 2020 is the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Rat.

While the rat is not included in my Free Spirit Guidebook lesson, Working with Animal Guides, I do want to share how you can embrace its energy this year.

Rats are always striving for success and achieving it.

Think about it.

Usually, when people are complaining about rats it is because the rats have done exactly what they wanted to with no concern about who was negatively affected by it.

Not that you want to embrace the second part of that scenario.

You can however focus on your goals this year and not what other people think of you.

Tap into the shrewd determination of a rat.

Ask the right to guide you quickly to your next right step towards success.

Stop at point throughout the year to recognize your efforts and to enjoy them.

Express gratitude and then keep going.

You might want to take time to look at what you are going after. Is it really what you want? Do you need to redefine what success looks like for you?

There are people who think rats don’t belong. The rat doesn’t care.

We all have our unique place in this world.

Including you.

Enjoy this energy!

ON THE AUTUMN EQUINOX, ENVISION YOURSELF HANGING OUT WITH YOUR ANIMAL GUIDE. MAKE A CONNECTION AND ASK FOR GUIDANCE DURING THE AUTUMN SEASON.

Messages revealed – clockwise from top!

Owl – This fall season will bring situations that will require your keen eye and sense of intuition. If you do not feel like these are well developed, then consider beginning a practice to increase your connection to your intuition. Call on Owl for wisdom and guidance to help you see what is hidden to most others.

Buffalo – It is important for you to connect with the gratitude theme of this season. The Buffalo is here to tell you that you everything you need. Maybe you are trying to get to another level. Saying that you for what you have, looking around and using what is at hand will both help you get there. When you find yourself complaining, ask Buffalo to guide you back to gratitude and prayer.

Cat – Ah, you are being invited to enjoy both a sense of play and aloofness this season. Really explore doing things that increase your self-confidence. When you do this, it will be easier to act when the time is right. Call in Cat this season when you need luck and a bit of curiosity.

Wolf – Looks like the autumn season will be a social one for you. In certain situations, you will thrive if you learn to protect yourself from sharing too much and picking up everyone else’s negativity. In other situations, you might be called to be the guardian of others. If this seems daunting, be sure to engage in activities that will help you trust your instincts more. Call on Wolf to be by your side and definitely consider howling at the moon a few times this season.

Squirrel – Use the fall season to be working towards future goals. When you have the energy to work on your goals, seize the opportunity and get a lot done. Create a list of the things you need to do to reach your goal/s. Persevere and work hard on checking things off your list this autumn. Call on Squirrel to remind yourself to be a bit selfish when it comes to creating a future you love.

Fox – Life might come at you with sticky situations this fall season. Tap into this Fox energy and remind yourself that you have faced obstacles before and come out on top and you can do it again. Step up your exercise routine so you can feel physically and mentally prepared to master this season with the prowess of the Fox. Any time you feel stuck or scared, ask the Fox for guidance and then see what clues show up to help you more forward.

Crow – Take time this season to delve a bit deeper into an area of study that involves mysticism, magic or shadow work. When you learn the ways of the universe and gain a deeper sense of your self, you can approach your life with the cleverness of the Crow. As these studies create change in your life, imagine the Crow on your shoulder or nearby guiding you on your path to your highest good.

Spider – The spider always asks, “Are you caught in a web or weaving your own destiny?” You might like to start this season by journaling your answer to that question. If you are already weaving, then envision how your destiny looks and keep creating your web. If not, what is going on? How can you untangle yourself and begin to create your own beautiful life? Either way, call on Spider for patience as you work on yourself this season.
