Monday, September 23rd is the Autumn Equinox and I thought you might like to pick your animal guide to be by your side for the rest of this season.

The cards are from my printable oracle card deck that will be a part of the upcoming release my new Free Spirit Guidebook.

  • Look at the image below. Close your eyes and breathe deeply.
  • Open your eyes. Choose the card you feel drawn to the most.
  • Scroll down for the cards and messages.
  • OR you can read the messages below and pick an animal that you think will be the best fit for your fall season.

Have fun with this! Notice when you see your animal represented during this season. You might see it on pillows, in commercials, or even live!

Use the hashtag #autumnanimalguide to join in the fun!

Each morning, ask your animal to guide you through your day and to help you tap into the qualities associated with this animal that will best serve you.

ON THE AUTUMN EQUINOX, ENVISION YOURSELF HANGING OUT WITH YOUR ANIMAL GUIDE. MAKE A CONNECTION AND ASK FOR GUIDANCE DURING THE AUTUMN SEASON.

Messages revealed – clockwise from top!

Owl – This fall season will bring situations that will require your keen eye and sense of intuition. If you do not feel like these are well developed, then consider beginning a practice to increase your connection to your intuition. Call on Owl for wisdom and guidance to help you see what is hidden to most others.

Buffalo – It is important for you to connect with the gratitude theme of this season. The Buffalo is here to tell you that you everything you need. Maybe you are trying to get to another level. Saying that you for what you have, looking around and using what is at hand will both help you get there. When you find yourself complaining, ask Buffalo to guide you back to gratitude and prayer.

Cat – Ah, you are being invited to enjoy both a sense of play and aloofness this season. Really explore doing things that increase your self-confidence. When you do this, it will be easier to act when the time is right. Call in Cat this season when you need luck and a bit of curiosity.

Wolf – Looks like the autumn season will be a social one for you. In certain situations, you will thrive if you learn to protect yourself from sharing too much and picking up everyone else’s negativity. In other situations, you might be called to be the guardian of others. If this seems daunting, be sure to engage in activities that will help you trust your instincts more. Call on Wolf to be by your side and definitely consider howling at the moon a few times this season.

Squirrel – Use the fall season to be working towards future goals. When you have the energy to work on your goals, seize the opportunity and get a lot done. Create a list of the things you need to do to reach your goal/s. Persevere and work hard on checking things off your list this autumn. Call on Squirrel to remind yourself to be a bit selfish when it comes to creating a future you love.

Fox – Life might come at you with sticky situations this fall season. Tap into this Fox energy and remind yourself that you have faced obstacles before and come out on top and you can do it again. Step up your exercise routine so you can feel physically and mentally prepared to master this season with the prowess of the Fox. Any time you feel stuck or scared, ask the Fox for guidance and then see what clues show up to help you more forward.

Crow – Take time this season to delve a bit deeper into an area of study that involves mysticism, magic or shadow work. When you learn the ways of the universe and gain a deeper sense of your self, you can approach your life with the cleverness of the Crow. As these studies create change in your life, imagine the Crow on your shoulder or nearby guiding you on your path to your highest good.

Spider – The spider always asks, “Are you caught in a web or weaving your own destiny?” You might like to start this season by journaling your answer to that question. If you are already weaving, then envision how your destiny looks and keep creating your web. If not, what is going on? How can you untangle yourself and begin to create your own beautiful life? Either way, call on Spider for patience as you work on yourself this season.

Harvest Full Moon Ritual

The Harvest Full Moon is one of my favorite full moons of the year!

You probably have memories of catching a bright orange moon coming up over the horizon this time of year and just being stunned by its beauty and power.

This year, I am hosting a private Full Moon Gathering in my neighborhood for friends.

I want to share with you a ritual you can do this weekend to tap into the feeling of gratitude and abundance.

Around the country, farms are being harvested and farmers are reflecting on their bounty.

As we change into the autumn season, it is nice for you to apply the same principles to your life.

So often once we accomplish one thing we start thinking about the next thing that we have to do.

Use this moon to pause and rest after the work that you have done.

Remind yourself of your hard work. Look back to see how far you have come. Take moment to look at the fruits of your labor, your harvest, and be grateful.

Let’s take some time to reflect on what seeds you have planted, which ones you nurtured, which ones grew, and which ones you are harvesting right now.

Harvest Full Moon Ritual

Supplies:

journal and pen

Optional:

Stones – pyrite, carnelian, or citrine

Incense – Sandalwood or a fall-scented variety

Candle – white, orange, yellow, or gold

***If you don’t have any of the above, improvise and gather supplies that make you think of fall.

This ritual is inspired by the Medicine Woman Tarot deck and Guidebook.
  • Gather your supplies and find a special spot under the full moon. If it rises too late for you to do this, no worries. Simply find a cozy spot in the evening.
  • If you do not have the supplies I suggested, you can always pick what you are drawn to based on what you have on hand. Trust your intuition.
  • Light your candles and incense and place your stones in front of you.
  • Close your eyes and Think about seeds being planted, then nurtured, then growing into food, providing sustenance and joy to many. Now think about the seeds you have planted and what they have become.
  • Begin to think about what you are enjoying right now if your life. Start to write these down in your journal.
  • Then think about the efforts you put in to make your current reality possible. Write them down. Thank yourself for your efforts.
  • Think about the people who have helped you get here. Write them down and send them a mental thank you.
  • Take note of how your efforts have helped others.
  • If your mind starts to wander to more things you “have” to get done, bring your thoughts back to the present moment. Remind yourself that you are celebrating coming this far. Enjoy it!
  • Smile and be happy about what you have worked for.
  • Then say or write down: “My ability to draw in the things, people, and situations I desire is increasing daily and my desires are constantly aligning with the greatest good for all.” (quote from Medicine Woman guidebook).

We try to be “on” all of the time. Allow this Harvest Full Moon to remind you of the cycles of the seasons. You have worked hard to get here. Be thankful and rejoice.

Going forward you can reflect on what you have done right and do it again.

Make this cycle of celebration a ritual. When you feel stuck in the future or feel like things are hard, you can remind yourself that you have been in this situation before, got past it, and then celebrated your efforts in the end.

Let yourself feel good right now. It is that energy that will help you duplicate and grow your efforts going forward.

Spiritual Tips for When a Family Member is in the Hospital

Quick tips that can help with the overwhelm and anxiety that comes with a family member or friend being in the hospital.

This is a topic close to my heart. I have wanted to make and share this video for about 2 years now.

Over the weekend, I received a text from a mom friend saying that they were at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and her son and just been diagnosed with Type One Diabetes.

My older son, Simon, was diagnosed just over 2 years ago. This mom was feeling scared and overwhelmed and wanted support.

I shared encouraging words and wished I would have sent her this video.

A lot of the reason I share the work and tips I do is because of my experience of being at the hospital for 4 days dealing with a new diagnosis.

I wish had these tips years before when other family members had been in the hospital.

These tips can also help in daily life and times of stress.

Tip #1 – Ask angels for help

  • I strongly encourage you to create a relationship with angels. Ask angels to surround your loved one and to help keep them safe. Ask them to fill them with white light, peace, and love.

Tips #2 – Ask God to take away your worries

  • Ask God/Universe/Universe/Divine to take away your worries. It is not your job to worry. Ask for your worries to be taken away. Imagine a magic wand drawing the worries out of your mind and off of your shoulders. There are unseen forces there to help you.

Tip #3 – Ego Eradicator Breath

  1. Sitting tall raise your arms up to a 60-degree angle. Straighten your elbows and relax your shoulders down.
  2. Curl your fingertips on to the pads of your palms at the base of the fingers. Stretch your thumbs out. (The arms being up is optional, especially if you are in a situation such as a hospital room!)
  3. Close your eyes and focus above the head.
  4. Practice Breath of Fire by breathing only through your nose with quick and even inhales and exhales. (example in video).
  5. Allow your navel point to pump in and out.
  6. Continue for 1 – 3 minutes.
  7. To end, inhale deeply and bring the thumb tips to touch overhead. Open the fingers, exhale and relax the arms down.

These 3 things were a huge help in the hospital and still help me to this day.

I hope they help you too!

Tap Into the Aloha Vibe with this Hawaiian Breath

Can you tell that I just got back from Hawaii? I had the most magical time and wanted to share some of the Aloha energy with you.

While I was there, I woke up early and did my normal breathing exercises to start my day.

A few days in, I realized that I wanted to really embody and project the word Aloha and Mahalo.

I learned that Aloha does not only mean hello and goodbye. It also means:

  • Love, peace, and compassion.
  • A connection with mind, body, spirit.
  • A connection with all other people, living things, and the universe.
  • To be joined with the spirit and the presence of the person you are with or the place you are in.

So I edited the breath I was doing to use the word Aloha and then I added an evening breath using the word Mahalo, to give thanks for the wonderful day.

After I got back, I discovered that the break down of the word includes breath.

Alo – “to share”
oha – “to show affection or friendship”
ha – “life, breath”

Wow! How perfect!

I am sharing this breathing technique with you today in a short video. (1:44).

I share this with respect for the Hawaiian culture and gratitude that I was able to experience with my family.

Below are some of my favorite photos from our trip!
