What makes you feel FREE?

Do you know what makes you feel FREE? 

Which things in your life, which actions that you take, which thoughts that you think are the ones that help you feel free and help you feel good?

When things are flowing easily in your life, it is usually because you are tapped into feeling good and feeling free.

Self-awareness can help you get into this state on a regular basis.

As I was writing the Free Spirit Guidebook, I understood that each lesson was a way for people to go from feeling negative or stuck to feeling positive and in the flow.

In addition to the lessons I shared in the book, there are things in my daily life that help me get into this feeling.

Being aware of them and also being aware of the times when I am not practicing them has changed my life.

I want you to gift yourself with this awareness so you can consistently get into a higher vibration when you notice that you are feeling blah or lost.

To get you in the right frame of mind you might like to do some breathing exercises and possibly this simple yoga sequence to help clear your aura

Doing both will help you release other people’s negative energy that you might have picked up lately.

Okay, once you are ready, let your answers flow.

Here are mine:

I feel free when I go for walks, laugh with my children, go on a date night with my husband, tidy up my house, shower, sing, dance, sit by the fire, swim, listen to the ocean, watch birds fly, listen to my cats purr, pet my cat, watch my children sleep, meditate, envision my goals coming true, exercise, relax in savasana, read a good book, listen to a good book, chat with friends, build something with my family, ride bikes with my family, take deep breaths, talk to God, angels, Bear, my higher self, my animal guides and my runners, when I clear my chakras, when I work with my crystals, when I focus on saying positive things about myself, when I have sex, after I have sex, wear pajamas I love, wear clothes that fit me and make me feel fabulous, when I declutter, when I put laundry away, when we are too busy to clean, when I look at my Free Spirit Guidebook, when I do the lessons in my Guidebook, when I share and connect with people online, when I meet other free spirits, teach others, share with others, am not giving a damn what others think, when I am donating to causes that are helping others and mother earth, when I compost, when I buy from companies that care about the environment, when I gaze at the stars, when I gaze at the moon, when I write, when I get ideas for my next book, when I am cozy in my bed, when I smell flowers.

I am not done and you won’t be done right away either. Consider having this list somewhere where you can easily add to it. Also, consider having it somewhere where you can be reminded to do these things.

Notice how some of mine are so simple. I understand that life can get crazy, and busy and overwhelming. That is why it is nice for you to remember that smelling flowers or focusing on your breath make you feel good. 

When you are aware of these things then you make sure you are doing them everyday even if it is just one of them.

This will raise your vibration and when you do the the universe responds by bringing you more things that match that vibration.

2020 Moon Phase Calendar – Free Printable

One of my favorite Free Spirit Living tips is following the phases of the moon. You will start to feel magical when you notice which phase the moon is in when you gaze up the sky.

If you are just getting started in this area, then use this printable as a reminder to look up and notice which phase the moon is in.

You can also set intentions on the new moon.

Take action towards them when the moon is growing or waxing. You can tell it is in this phase when it is lit on the right side.

Express gratitude and practice a ritual when the moon is full.

Release old habits or negative patterns while the moon is waning. This is when the moon is lit on the left side.

Take time to rest right before the next new moon.

You can also track your energy by noticing how you feel during different phases.

Sometimes it is just fun just to notice what phase the moon is in on any given day. You can click here to learn how to connect with the phases of the moon.

You can print this out and either hang it with some fun washi tape or punch a hole in the top and hang it by some pretty string. I also suggest trimming the sides.

I based the dates on Arizona. Only July and September will show up a day later if you are on the east coast. Go here to confirm the dates in your time zone. The energy of the full moon last 3 days before and after so no need to get too hung up on the time.

I thought that the new year and the new decade were the perfect time to share them with you.

Super Simple Meditation

Today I am sharing a super simple meditation technique that I have a feeling you will use for years to come.

This is perfect if:

  • You hoping to meditate more.
  • You have a hard time getting started meditating.
  • You are tired and want a simple meditation.
  • You are a beginner.
  • You are trying to get back into meditating.
  • You want a simple technique to do regularly.

It begins by finding a comfortable place to sit. Be sure that you have set aside time and a quiet place.

Then you are going to sit tall and have your feet flat on the floor if you are on furniture or you can sit cross-legged on the floor.

You can place your palms up on your legs or face down. Whichever feels most comfortable.

Then you will take a cleansing breath: inhale deeply through your nose and exhale out of your mouth. Allow the exhale to relax you a bit and bring you into the present moment.

Then you will use your fingers to count the next 4 rounds of breath in and out of your nose:

  • Bring your index finger to touch your thumb as you inhale for a count of 4, hold your breath for a count of 4, and exhale for a count of 4.
  • Next, bring your middle finger to touch your thumb as you inhale for a count of 4, hold your breath for a count of 4, and exhale for a count of 4.
  • Next, bring your ring finger to touch your thumb as you inhale for a count of 4, hold your breath for a count of 4, and exhale for a count of 4.
  • Lastly, bring your pinky finger to touch your thumb as you inhale for a count of 4, hold your breath for a count of 4, and exhale for a count of 4.

Now, you can sit in silence.

Allow any thoughts to float across your mind like clouds in the sky. If you have a ton of thoughts you can imagine them going by like a train.

If you get stuck thinking about one, notice that and then let it go.

Somedays your meditation might be spent letting go of thoughts and on other days you might find that sweet spot between the thoughts.

Either way, take a moment and thank yourself when you are done for taking this time to yourself.

It is in these moments of trying to get quiet that you can receive messages from your intuition, your higher self, the universe, the divine.

Usually, the ones that you have been struggling to figure out in your daily life.

This is also nice to do this in bed at the end of your day. Allowing your body and your mind to relax can bring miracles.

Pick A Crystal – Mini-Reading

Pick the crystal you are drawn to the most and share it in the comments.

During my book launch parties, I asked people to do this and then shared the qualities associated with the one they chose and a little ritual to do based on the Working with Crystals lesson in my new Free Spirit Guidebook.

1. Selenite – You are picking up a lot of people’s negative energy. Either using selenite or imagining it in your hand, move it around your body like you are clearing it of negative energy and flick it away. After you are done, imagine yourself surrounded by white light. Repeat as needed.

2. Tiger’s Eye – You need strength in times of stress. Either carry it with you to feel more grounded or place your hand just above your navel at your Solar Plexus Chakra, imagine yellow light there and repeat, “I trust my gut instincts and stand in my personal power.

3. Red Jasper – You need help with anxiety now or in the near future. Take some time each day to breathe deeply and imagine roots coming out of your feet and base of your spine and going deep into the earth. Feel as though you draw up the stabilizing energy of the earth with each breath.

4. Snowflake Obsidian – You might experience anger over the next weeks. You can hold this stone or any stone in your hand for a quick release of anger. Put it in the sun after.

5. Sodalite – You are seeking harmony with your words and your thoughts. Take time to meditate by imagining blue light at your throat and indigo light at your 3rd eye. Forgive yourself for negative thoughts and then choose a more positive one. Also, pause before you speak.

6. Amethyst – You have been feeling like you are in the murkiness of the earthly world. Take time to imagine a 1000-petaled lotus opening on the crown of your head connecting you to the wisdom of the universe.

7. Clear Quartz Crystal – You are seeking clarity right now. Imagine a wind coming in and blowing all around you, removing old, stagnant energy. Then imagine yourself surrounded by white light. Say, “I can see clearly now.” Stay open to new opportunities and aha moments.

8. Rose Quartz – Love, love, love. Imagine rose-colored light around your heart. Imagine growing to surround your whole body. Then imagine it growing and surrounding the whole world. Love is everywhere and you are connected to it.

9. Howlite – Your life is asking you to be more discerning. What are some things you do that help you feel more confident in your decisions? Exercising, meditating, baths? Make sure you are doing them so you can act tactfully and joy and ease.

10. Green Aventurine – Luck and success are making their way to you if they are no already here. If you feel like you have certain behaviors or thought patterns that block you from receiving then please take a hard look at those now. You are worthy of all of your desire. Repeat. I am loving and lovable. I welcome luck and success in my life on all levels. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
