Ancestral Altar – New Moon In Scorpio Circle

Come gather in circle to learn how to create an ancestor altar at home.

It is believed that the veil between worlds is thin this time of year and an ideal time to connect with and seek support from your ancestors.

Whether or not you know much about those who came before you, this workshop will give you the opportunity to deepen your connections.

You will learn how to create an ancestor altar plus be guided through a visualization to help connect with their energy and ask for guidance and signs.

If you know which ancestors you would like to connect with you can start gathering supplies like photos of them and/or their home or favorite places, candles in scents or colors they liked, food or drinks they enjoyed, items related to the country or place they were from, or lived in, or loved to visit, their favorite plants or flowers, any items passed down, etc.

If not, no worries! You can still use the list above to spark ideas of items to gather for your altar.

You will feel a stronger connection to your ancestors and be confident in honoring them at home.

This workshop is inspired by the New Moon in Scorpio Ritual from my book, Stellar Vibrations, that I co-wrote.

10/29 Tuesday @ 10am

Connect with your ancestors & receive support.

Cozy Witchy Mysteries & Reads

I love reading mysteries and cozy witchy mysteries of one of my fave genres. Below I’m sharing a few that I think you might enjoy to help you get into the spirit of the season.

Scroll down for a few of my witchy picks!

The Magical Cures Mystery Series by Tonya Kappes is one of my faves! I just love how everyone in town has different talents and they all have cute shops. Details: ā€œBubble… Bubble…June Heal has nothing to lose when she relocates her homeopathic cure shop, A Dose of Darla, from the flea market booth in her home town, to a quaint shop in the cozy but unusual little town of Whispering Falls, Kentucky. Or so it seems. Cures and trouble…Whispering Falls has a lot of secrets.ā€

A Charming Crime – Book One

A Wishcraft Mystery Series by Heather Blake is another fun series! Another series that takes place in a magical tourist town. Details: ā€œDarcy Merriweather and her sister, Harper, hail from a long line of witches who have the power to grant wishes using spells. They’ve come to Enchanted Village in Salem, Massachusetts, to join the family business, but soon find themselves knee-deep in murderā€¦ā€

It Takes a Witch – Book One

A Legacy of Magic Series by Ellen Dugan has some steamy scenes that most of my cozy reads do not have and that might be just what you are looking for. Details: ā€œSo it turns out Magick runs in the family… Autumn Bishop was just your average grad student…who happens to be a Seer. When she moves in with her long lost aunt and cousins, they look like a relatively normal family from the outside, however they turn out to be so much more.ā€

Legacy of Magic – Book One

I’m just scratching the surface with these picks. I hope you find one you love!

(These featured books are not sponsored, and all opinions are mine. I picked books I’ve enjoyed and personally read. If you purchase through my links, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Thank you!)

8 Ways to Feel More Grounded This October

Ah, the change of seasons! There’s something truly enchanting about autumn, the month of October, and the fresh opportunities it brings for positive transformation. I know that life can sometimes feel heavy and chaotic, making it easy to feel scattered. But fear not! Here are 8 delightful ways to ground yourself this month and connect with your inner magic:

Here are 8 Ways to Feel More Grounded This October:

1. Get Grounded Visualization

This simple technique has been a part of my morning ritual for over 20 years! It’s a wonderful way to anchor yourself in the present moment, especially when life feels overwhelming. You can follow a quick version on Instagram, dive into a longer guided session on YouTube, or explore it in my book and online course, Tend To Your Vibration. Plus, check out my complimentary complimentary Autumn Equinox Yoga class, where I guide you through this beautiful practice.

2. Practice Yoga

Moving your body is a great way to get out of your head and into the present moment which helps you feel more grounded. Join me for my Autumn Equinox Yoga class where we move our bodies slowly to release stress and tension while focusing on poses that will help us feel more grounded. You’ll even discover your Autumn Animal Guide during a calming meditation. If you’re looking for more, I have a variety of yoga videos available, from quick five-minute sessions to full-length classes.

3. Connect with an Animal Guide

I made this screen saver with an image from Craiyon.

Connecting with a seasonal animal guide can be a magical experience! Recently, I met a wise black owl named Coro during meditation. To find your own guide:

  • Pay attention to any animals that seem to be appearing in your life—be it in nature, ads, or social media.
  • If you have my book or online course, you can listen to the recorded guided meditation to help you connect with your autumn animal guide. Or simply look at the animals in my book and pick one that you are drawn to.
  • Pick a fall-related one using your intuition from this blog post, Pick Your Autumn Animal Guide!
  • Participate in my Autumn Equinox Yoga class which will lead you through a meditation during savasana to help you connect with your current animal guide.

4. Deep Breathing

Pause now and begin to notice your breath. Allow each inhale to become deeper and each exhale to become longer. Notice a difference? If you would like to be guided through a grounding breath, try the 3rd breath on this blog post, 3 breathing techniques that will change your life! This simple breath is perfect for when you are feeling frazzled, worried, up in your head, focused outside of yourself, etc. It reduces stress, lowers blood pressure, releases toxins and tensions, and is calming.

5. Gather In Community

I’ve been feeling much more grounded lately and a big part of that comes from gathering in community these last few months in my ritual and moon circles. Magic truly happens when women gather together. The beginning of Autumn coincides with the beginning of Libra season. Libra is associated with the scales and balance. Adding more ways to feel grounded can also help you feel balanced.

I will be hosting New Moon In Libra Circles this week and Full Moon in Aries Circles later in the month. You can find all of the details here: Magical Events.

The ones later in the month will include Rituals for your Trader Joe’s Cinnamon Broom.

You might like to create your own circle and practice the rituals from my book Stellar Vibrations.

6. Earthing

Standing with bare feet or laying on the earth are two of the simplest and easiest ways to get grounded and feel connected to Mother Earth. Last week my friend, Candace, came to my Full Moon Circle and told me how she and her husband have been practicing this and experiencing positive benefits including reduced inflammation. Her husband is very science-oriented and loves this book: Earthing: The Most Important Discover Health Discovery Ever!. There is a movie based on the book that you can find on YouTube.

A quote from a 2015 study states, “Grounding appears to improve sleep, normalize the day–night cortisol rhythm, reduce pain, reduce stress, shift the autonomic nervous system from sympathetic toward parasympathetic activation, increase heart rate variability, speed wound healing, and reduce blood viscosity.” Wowza! I also found this Beginner’s Guide that you might like. I’ve been practicing for 10 minutes a day since the equinox and appreciating the pause in nature. Gardening and time in nature help too.

7. Journaling

With screens so prevalent in our lives, there is something grounding and magical about putting pen to paper. Here is a beautiful journaling prompt that might be nice to use on the New Moon in Libra on Wednesday, October 2nd 2024, or any time during this autumn season: What makes me feel more grounded & connects me to my inner magic?

8. Connect With Your Ancestors

ancestor altar

October is a beautiful time to honor our ancestors, as the veil between worlds is said to be thin. Consider creating an Ancestor Altar for the Halloween season—I’ve shared tips on how to do this here. If you’re in Arizona, join me for an Ancestral Altar Guided Meditation with Mugwort at Kaya Holistic in Phoenix on Sunday, October 27th at 10 AM. Tickets will be available soon. Hop on myĀ newsletter listĀ orĀ follow me on InstagramĀ to stay in the loop.

Remember, none of this is medical advice, but rather an invitation to explore the magic of autumn and cultivate a sense of grounding in your life. May you embrace this season with open arms and connect deeply to your inner magic! šŸ‚āœØ
