I feel so lucky to be so in love with our new home! One day during our house hunt, I was driving around with my mom and she told me to turn on a street that she had always loved.

There was a house for sale and I looked it up on my phone using the Realtor.com app. I fell in love! That evening, my husband said he found a house that he loved online and it turned out to be the same house! We set up a time to see it and seriously felt like it was meant to be our home but since we were still in the closing process of our house in Chicago there was nothing we could do.

So we kept looking but nothing seemed to compare. Then, it went off the market. I was a little depressed for a couple of days and my husband kept telling me that something else would come up.

We finally closed on our house in Chicago and not long after my husband woke me up in the morning to tell me our realtor (who was AMAZING!) emailed to say that it was back on the market. Hooray! We went to look at it again and I tried to be critical to make sure that it was THE ONE. It was! 🙂

We put in an offer and it was accepted! It is quirky, needs a little work and is in a great neighborhood which are all things we were hoping for. Here are some before photos of the inside:

Entry way.

Living room plus fireplace. I love how open it is! The previous owners had a pool table under those fans but we are making that space our living room. Plus, now I have room to host yoga classes at home!

Dining room.

Guest bathroom.

Playroom. The boys are sharing a room so we decided to make this room a playroom which they love!

Boys room.

Library. Um, yes you read that right! I am almost embarrassed when I say it! This is how you enter the master bedroom. We just discovered that it was the original master bedroom before some additions.

Master bedroom.

Master bath. It is called a “walk-through” shower. SO wild! I am standing on the other side of the shower when I took this photo. Not much privacy for the toilet though. LOL!

Master bath. There are two more sinks in an area that we found out used to be a sauna that was installed by a previous owner that was European.

Wet bar! This practically sold us 🙂

See! I am even sharing two photos of it.

Kitchen. Super neat! The cabinets are old but I have never seen anything like it and love it so much!

Kitchen desk. Yay! My new office 🙂 Seriously this little area is so exciting! I can’t wait to get it all organized.

Office and Guest room. Now that my husband is working from home he needed an office that was set apart from the rest of the house. This room is perfect because it is large enough for us to make it a guest room for company also.

Guest Bath. It even comes with a bathroom that has a door to the back yard. Perfect for swimming!

Laundry room. Look at all that storage!

There it is! I will share photos of the outside next week. It looks a lot different now that all of our stuff is in.

We actually have made a lot of progress. Having a housewarming party will do that. I will share “after” photos in the future. Exciting!
